New business association aims to make Edmonton Aboriginal business capital of Canada
Prominent government officials joined board members and members of the local Aboriginal business & professional community to launch Aksis, Edmonton’s Aboriginal business and professional association. The association, funded by the City of Edmonton and Government of Alberta, aims to stimulate and promote the growth of Aboriginal business and professionals in Edmonton. The association’s board of directors unveiled their new name, visual identity and website at the launch held at the Aboriginal-owned Wingate Hotel. The name – Aksis, which is a purposeful reimagining of the word ‘axis’, was chosen to showcase the association’s mission to be a central hub around which Aboriginal businesses and professionals can gain support from. B5 Communications worked in partnership with FREE to organize the media launch. We provided media, public relations and event planning support and Free led the branding of the organization.
Congratulations, Aksis. We are looking forward to seeing you grow and prosper.
